Eating at Rama’s Kitchen is a full-out culinary experience based on Farm to Table principles. From the first moment you arrive, it is very clear that there is something different here, connected to the roots of the place, the land, the area. The restaurant is located in the community settlement of Nataf overlooking the Jerusalem Mountains. The view is breathtaking and addictive. If you are lucky, you will get there in time for sunset and will be able to enjoy it with a glass of local wine. On your way to the restaurant you’ll walk by beds of vegetables and spices that provide the fresh ingredients for most of the menu. Smells of lime, aloysia and hyssop fill the air, along with the aroma of meat coming from the restaurant’s smoker. All of this provides a pleasant background for a 9 dish tasting meal, brought to your table over the course of 3 hours of pure pleasure. In keeping with the concept, the menu changes regularly based on the seasonal availability of ingredients. Upon arrival, you will be served a great cocktail made from lemon arak and tamarind to open up your appetite. Then just sit back, relax and wait for the surprising dishes to begin arriving. Beyond the beauty and obviously skilled execution of the dishes, their unique, balanced flavor is extraordinarily vivid. Among other dishes, you can enjoy the crispy lahma bi-'ajin slices, rich in flavors, and straight from the taboon oven. You will probably not be able to control yourselves and ask for another slice. The drumfish also stars in the menu – it is roasted in thick layers of salt, sliced and served outside of the kitchen to the curious eyes of the diners. It is especially juicy and fresh alongside homemade green salsa. And sometimes the best things in life are the simple ones, like the roasted chestnut and pumpkin dessert, served with almond cream. Every bite is perfection. Finally, a dessert canvas that tickles the senses arrives at the table. Your stomach will already be beyond full, but you won’tbe able to say no.
